Melting Point And Solubility:
The content of crystalline water and the melting point of pure naringin vary depending on the crystallization and drying methods. Naringin crystallized with water as a solvent contains 6-8 molecules of crystalline water, with a melting point of 83℃; while naringin obtained after drying to constant weight at 110℃ contains 2 molecules of crystalline water, and its melting point rises to 171℃. It is soluble in methanol, ethanol, acetone, acetic acid, dilute alkali solutions and hot water. At room temperature, its solubility in water is 0.1%, and it reaches 10% at 75℃. It is insoluble in non-polar solvents such as petroleum ether, ether, benzene and chloroform.
